in no man`s land

I am we

are

prisoners of my breath travelling to the edge

of that raw knowledge wrapped around our bodies

waves brood darkly

grow denser reeds become needles

as hands measure with spikes

they pull you from my core my broken

vowels piercing slit skin

you leave me

left behind

backspaced and incomplete

I have become she who

is

holding the light in her hands
